One down, one to go

You've got to love the stressful exam time! Where you feel guilty for sleeping because you could use that time for cramming!

on a happy note, I am learning lots, I am spending time with my friends in HD and the sun is shining!

we're having great weather here, spring is in the air& I'm going to see my dad and brother in Poland for 3 days after monday!!

life is really good after all!

No more snow for me

Well, maybe a little, I heard that it's supposed to be snowing a little this week,…
A warm hello to all of you out there! I am back in Germania, ready to tackle down the exams, cramming and freaking out that I will fail. What else is new? I spent Christmas, New Year’s and my birthday at home, a most of you know and have seen me there! Those 4 weeks were one of the best ones in my life, I enjoyed myself so much! Ate, slept, and got together with friends. I rarely went to bed before 3am and rarely got up before 9:30…It’s been a while since I got so much rest, and seeing how Europe is sometimes so crazy, I loved every minute of it!It did me good! My mom is the most amazing cook(no wonder I gained 10lbs) and spoiled me rotten. I loved going to Costco with my dad, just sitting in the car, driving with him was great. I didn't have to talk, but if I did, he just listened. And gave me advice. I remember 2 night before I was leaving, the two of us were up until 3:30
-eventhough he had to get up at 7 that following morning!!!  My sister was always there for a good laugh, coffee, lunch and shopping! I can’t believe how grown up she’s gotten in the past year…It scares me a little because I seise to be the ‘older, more mature, grown up’ sister.
And as always, I got to see my little brother WAY too little! But the times we did hang out it was great! Loved talking to him, goofing around and going for a ride in his Jeep!(that is such a beautiful car!)
All of you my friends in 'The Mothership' as Pete calls it were unbelievable!!! Thank you so much for taking time off from your busy lives to meet with me!! Thank you for picking me up in your cars to go out or to dinner(or to a fun filled ‘family brunch’ in Millwoods!) Thanks for all the coffee, lunches and tanning sessions! You know, the more I think about the past 4 weeks, the more homesick I’m getting again! Europe
, eventhough still great and interesting, is becoming ‘abroad’ and I’m itching to be coming home to you! With the exception of one or 2 people(if you're reading this-you know who you are) I managed to get in contact with almost everyone! Even in a spur of the moment I talked to Dr. Wormsie on the phone!!(Shreys and I paged him for something he couldn't get me anyways...) how cool is that!
Thank you all for coming to my birthday at the Buddha!! So many people, so little time, and Such fun! We celebrated with Matilda(who turned 18)her friends, Pete’s friends(whom I *almost all* know and love) and my people(with a few surprises)!
I haven't sent out my traditional New Year's email this year. Sorry, with so much excitement packed into a short 4 weeks, I couldn’t. Maybe however after exams are over I’ll sit down and write it. We’ll see, because 2007 is shaping up to be a busy year if all goes my way !I hope to be doing much more travelling, meeting up with people I haven’s seen in years, and finally (hopefully)starting to work in my chosen career! As much as I love selling perfume, I think it’s time to move on to bigger and better things! I noticed that I have lost the respect and appreciation to the ‘luxury items’ that we sell…perfume has become just another obvious necessity…like air freshener…and I don’t like that attitude.
Currently I am sitting on the train going 1st class to Heidelberg.(extra treat fro the train company...and I hear the 2nd class wagons got broken by the storm...
My battery is about to die, so this is where I say adieu, until next time, and  keep checking the blog, I will write more often this year!out or to dinnerour cars( off from your busy lives to meer of is freaking out that I will fail.

SO I admit it! I have a problem!!

It's called dirty dishes!
I leave mugs and classes everywhere...
I bow my head in shame-it took me half and hour to wash everything in my room. Bad me! Especially when I could have been doing so many more interesting things!!!Like reading my book about Jackie Kennedy...or go jogging-my new favorite past time...or continue pasting my scrap book together and being creative...but no!!!If I hadn't have washed it, the rest of my neighbours wouldn't have had a single glass in the kitchen...bad me!

On a much more happy note- to answer all the incoming emails: I'm coming home for christmas!!I can't wait to see all of you again!! for those that want something from Germany-now is the time to speak up!Let me know what to get you!

Hugs,

Aleks

So I'm not a millionaire!

Sucks! My boyfriend and I played the lotto this weekend-the jackpot was 35M!!! THe highest one ever in german history...and I didn't get it...sucks!
It was fun however dreaming all weekend long about what I'm going to do with the cash...buy an apartment in HD for friends and myself...a new car-I thing a bug or a mini...tune my vespa to perfection...go to Rome for a week or 2...and then go home for thanksgiving without telling anyone-surprising my family! my mother was so bummed out last night on the phone because the turkey is in the oven and I'm not going to be there to enjoy it with them...
That's what I would do!

back among the living

back in HD again, had a great time this summer in PL and Rome with the familia, greetings to Pete and Monkley-I hope you'll visit again soon. I will work on getting my other site up and going, just need more time. 2 oral exams in 10 days, 2 written and 1 oral at the end of this semester in feb and I will hopefully be done.
lots of crazy thoughts running through my head as to what am I doing next...even ideas of living in PL for a while have surfaced...we'll see

until next time, hugs,
aleks

And so it goes

Hot, hotter, 34°C today. and guess what I get to do...that's right, translate and study!
hopefully I'll manage to go to the pool tonight to cool off a bit, the sun is brutal! And since Heidelberg is located in a valley, it doesn't cool off at night. It's still hot. Our balcony has become our kitchen, we're only indoors when we cook something...but even that doesn't happen much these days, we eat salad because it's nice and cold...
I'm grateful to be living on the 1st floor, I can only imagine how the others on the 10th and 11th must suffer! I have to even put my OREO cookies into the fridge because they melt!
You have to imagine this-there are 7 people living on my side of the floor, and all room doors are open at some point of the day too cool off. Ventiltors are a hot commodity, and I'm busy making ice cubes in my little freezer, because water without ice is too gross these days.
On one hand, Ilove this weather! Hot, warm, you feel your bones getting warm. Summer is a wonderful thing!
On the other hand, it's sometimes too hot and my head doesn't play along. This is the main migraine season...but since I use ice cream to prevent them, I get another excuse to eat more of the good stuff...
Oh well, back to cramming. Exams in 2 weeks!

 Lots of love, ALeks
